The aim is to build an open and distributed data ecosystem

Automotive manufacturers (OEMs) and suppliers are facing major challenges: The development of automated and connected driving functions is becoming increasingly complex due to the complex combination of software and hardware and their safeguarding. This results in deep and broad supply chains that need to be efficient and traceable. To optimize this problem, it is necessary to bring together large amounts of data from different sources.

Open and distributed data ecosystems, such as those being created as part of Gaia-X, offer a solution here. Here, jointly designed services can be created that enable the regulated exchange of data. The services use technical means to provide the necessary trust and security.

The Gaia-X 4 PLC-AAD project looks at the entire product life cycle, from the development of software and hardware functions, through production and the supply chain, to operation in the field. The necessary information models, data architectures and associated processes and roles are being developed for this purpose.

Test fields and test environments are integrated into the data ecosystem as examples of automated driving functions and their sensors. Interfaces will also enable the application in other areas.
